The New Teacher Alliance is funded by the Paul G. Allen
Family Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation. CSTP established partnerships with a diverse
group of school districts and two Educational Service
Districts (ESDs) to develop plans for designing and implementing
model programs, based on the induction standards that
reflect their culture and context. The Office of Superintendent
of Public Instruction is an active partner in the alliance.

Outcomes
When new teachers in Washington experience high-quality
support in the first five years of their professional
career, we will reduce the number who abandon education
and also reduce the mobility among teachers in
schools with challenging populations.
The results of this work will enable districts to develop
and retain a new generation of skilled, highly qualified
teachers, and ultimately, it is Washington's students
who will benefit most.

Partners have created a concept map to illustrate
the work they are doing.
The map shows the relationships among the standards and
how the work in each district connects to the standards.
Click
here to view a static image of the concept map.
The interactive version will be posted in Spring 2008.
