Leadership Case Writing Seminar - "Dilemmas in Providing Support for New Teachers: Learn To Write An Effective Case Study" This seminar is taught in two segments. Applicants will be attending both: June 30 - July 2 near Spokane and August 5-7 in the Seattle area.


Portfolio Scoring - NBPTS will have a portfolio scoring site in Washington again this summer. The application to score is not yet available, but if you or your colleagues are interested please save the dates. Scoring will be in Federal Way from 7/14-8/1 for the following certificate areas:

  • EMC Literacy
  • EA/Mathematics
  • ECYA School Counseling
  • EA Social Studies/History
  • AYA Social Studies/History

Writers' Retreat at Islandwood in rural Kitsap County. Emphasis will be on creativity in the classroom, across all grade levels and subject areas.


Writers' Retreat in Bellingham (emphasis on math and science)


Advocacy Workshop: Seeking Advocates for Quality Teaching in North Bend (30 minutes east of Seattle). The workshop will be held over three days in the summer. To apply, complete the questionnaire by May 26th. Those selected will be notified by June 1st. Fee of $100 pays for course fee, meals and lodging. Click here to learn more.
