CSTP wants to celebrate a few award-winning teachers in Washington!
Congratulations to NBCT Barbara Franz, math teacher from Moses Lake, and Dawn Sparks, science teacher from Thorp, who President Obama announced as recipients of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. They are two of 85 teachers nationally receiving this prestigious award for their teaching excellence in math and science.
Congratulations to NBCT and State Teacher of the Year Jay Maebori from Kent. This week Jay attended a reception hosted by President Obama to honor the 2011 National and State Teachers of the Year. You can watch part of the reception with the President's remarks (and you'll see Jay behind him in the front row between the Prez and Arne Duncan -- nice positioning, Jay!).
