In October 2009, 100 Washington NBCTs convened at the National Board Certified Teacher Policy Symposium sponsored by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. The purpose of the Symposium was to create a set of teacher‐directed recommendations for policymakers on the implementation and phase‐in of instructional components contained within ESHB 2261 for the next eight years.
