Supporting Educator Evaluation In Washington

see_logo_final_color_wa.jpg

SEE-Washington is a CSTP project funded by the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation.  SEE supports the implementation of Washington's new educator evaluation law by providing dialogue tools that will help communities articulate their vision for effective teaching.  For districts interested in creating opportunities for teacher leaders and administrators to gain understanding about the new law and dialogue about its potential to improve teaching and learning, SEE provides the services of a trained facilitator at no cost.   Facilitators are teacher leaders and principals currently working in Washington's K-12 public school system.

Changes to the educator evaluation system in Washington will require significant mindset changes for teachers, principals, central office administrators and the community.  SEE provides tools for dialogue that will help all stakeholders understand the changes coming their way.

CSTP believes that all educators in Washington must engage in deep and focused conversations about the elements of quality teaching and that those conversations must be led by teams of accomplished principals and teachers working together to create a common vision for assessing effective teaching and learning.   In 2011, CSTP created four workshops for educators in a series called A New Evaluation System for Washington's Teachers and Principals.   Feel free to use these presentation tools in your context

One Hour Workshop:  Part I What's It All About?  and  Part II  Changing from What to What

Three Hour Workshop: Part I What's an Instructional Framework and WHY do we need one? and Part II Considering Multiple Measure
