Are you a teacher leader or other educator who feels passionately about ensuring all students have what they need to learn every day, but feel like the education policies happen TO you and not WITH you? Do you have a perspective, opinion or story to share that would help good decision-making in your school, district, community or state, but just aren't sure how to get your message across? You're not alone! CSTP believes that given the right skills and tools, educators like you can effectively insert your voice into decision-making processes, and better decisions will be made as a result.
The CSTP Advocacy Training is designed for teachers and other educators to add-to and boost-up the knowledge and skills needed to advocate for positive change at the local, state, and national policy levels. Learn how to transform your expertise into advocacy goals connected to strong, cohesive messages. Develop communication skills to speak so others listen. Strategize about logical entry points in the system to introduce your voice into policy dialogue, and craft a plan to meet your context-specific advocacy goals that support effective teaching and student learning.
Interested individuals should register early as the trainings fill up quickly. The cost for the training is $50 per person and includes meals (breakfast & lunch), training venue and materials.
CSTP is also willing to provide targeted and customized Advocacy Trainings for larger groups of educators or organizations. Contact us or go to our website for more information.
