Summer Training Opportunity

TOOLS FOR TEACHERS: COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIES July 20-22 NORTH BEND

CSTP is seeking teachers from across Washington willing to act as spokespersons in their community, advocating for state and local policies that support quality teaching. You will become comfortable talking with district administrators, legislators, editorial boards, reporters, and other policymakers about instructional quality and the supports we need to make sure every student receives quality instruction every day.

Over three days, participants in this workshop hear from journalists, legislators and public relations professionals. You will learn how to express your views effectively -- to figure out what you want to say and deliver your message effectively. You will practice delivering your message so you are ready interact with school directors, testify before a legislative committee, or give an effective interview with a reporter.

Applications for Communications Tools are due April 27th. Notification will be by June 1st. Fee is $75.
