This interactive and collaborative course will unpack the concept of assessment and clarify its diverse applications in the classroom. Participants will have an opportunity to reflect upon the classroom assessment tools they currently use with success as well as review other types of assessments including formative, summative, and progress monitoring. A variety of collaborative instructional structures will be modeled in order to provide for an energizing shared learning experience.

American communities, and consequently schools, continue to become more diverse. Participants will examine the diversity of cultures in their classrooms and communities and respond with effective strategies to affirm, validate, and engage all students.
